A Roarr-some day awaits you as we celebrate our popular park mascot’s birthday week!
Dippy the Dinosaur is hosting a Hawaiian themed party, and everyone is invited to our 85-acre park to celebrate.
We have been catching up with Dippy and he has let us in on some top secret activities and plans for his special themed week at the park – running from 29 July through to 4 August.
You will be able to view some of our Spirit Turtles as you and your family drive into the car park, before a special birthday trail awaits you – with the aim of finding all of the tribal masks. These include a crocodile, moon, sun, rooster and bird!
In Hawaiian mythology, there are many Gods and demigods, Maui is the most famous of all the heroic trickster demigods. Maui had many adventures, and the masks hidden around the Park and read the myths based on his many stories.
If you complete the trail, head to Guest Services who will give you one of our exclusive event Pop on Badges.
Make sure you capture a selfie with Dippy’s Seaside Photograph board at the park entrance.
Take a stroll through the Woodland Trail and see lots of Dippy’s birthday party decorations and some of his favourite things, you may even come across some of Dippy’s friends who are trying to get the Party ready! (11.45am – 3.00pm)
Back by popular demand is Dippy’s Disco Dancing at 11.30am and 3.00pm.
At 11.45am you can sing Happy Birthday to Dippy whilst he blows out his birthday candle, you can buy a piece of the birthday cake in all the food outlets. At 3.15pm you can have a photograph with Dippy to take home.
During the day, you can also have your face painted with fabulous style or have a tribal tattoo painted on your arm, and join in with Dippy’s Hawaiian themed party.
When you visit the Secret Animal Garden, make sure you go to the encounters barn to make a birthday card for Dippy. You can take the card home or post it in the letterbox for Dippy to read and display near the Main Entrance.
