Ringland Half Marathon event FULL DETAILS – including road diversions
An early highlight in the Norfolk running race calendar is set to feature Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure this weekend.
The Ringland Half Marathon, a new race from Norwich Road Runners – will see the adult race start and end at our dinosaur themed adventure park.
Our park is being used for the junior race, which involves 150 children running a pre set course around the park – roughly 2 kilometres.
The start is at the EPT trailer and the finish is through Dippy’s Splash Zone gates.
Importantly, Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure is still open as usual for guests – none of the attractions or day-to-day running of the park will be affected by the races.
The main road is closed between the park entrance and Morton Lane from 9.30am to 12.30pm as agreed and organised with the County Council. Norwich Road Runners will be providing traffic Marshalls to direct people round the diversion which has signage and is clearly marked.
The Park is still accessible from the Fakenham Road directions, there will also be Traffic Marshals at the road closure to direct people although the diversion is clearly marked. The road closure is likely to be removed earlier – but we are warning guests nonetheless.
8.30am – Families for the children’s race will begin arriving in the park, as they like to stand along the race course.
8.50am – Dippy to come out to high five the kids and to start the race.
9.00am – Junior race begins will last 15/20 minutes.
9.15am-9.30am – Dippy gives medals to the junior racers as they finish the race.
The main race features 850 runners and the junior race has 150 participants – no spaces will be available on the day.
Attracting a large field of both fast club runners and new runners looking to try a distance race, the beautiful 13.1 mile course takes runners through the Norfolk Countryside. The race is sold out – so no places will be available on the day.
