Come and meet Dippy the Dinosaur, everyday at 11:15 am


11:00 – 11:30 : Good Morning Pigs – Map Ref 13

Come and say good morning to our Kune Kune pigs Peppa and George.


11:30 – 12:00 : Guinea Pig Petting – Map Ref 15

Pop along to the Encounter Barn and stroke one of the guinea pigs. In quiet periods you may even be lucky enough to hold one. With over 20 guinea pigs to choose from, will your favourite be out to meet you today? (Please note during busy periods guinea pigs are only stroked, not held for welfare reasons).


12:00 – 12:30 : Creepy Crawlies – Map Ref 15

Come along and learn about the fascinating world of invertebrates. Dare you hold a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach? Find out what it feels like to have a Millipede with over 100 legs walk on your hand or get up close to a Giant African Land Snail. (Please note invertebrates vary from day to day).


12:00 – 12:30 : Deer Safari – Map Ref 19

Come and take a trailer ride out to Deer Park to see our herd of Red and Fallow Deer and learn lots of interesting facts along the way. Our Animal Keeper will introduce you to our Stag Apollo and Bucks, Pan and Labyrinth. During the spring you may be lucky enough to see some calves and fawns and later in the year the males will have a full set of antlers on display. (This is a seasonal activity which incurs an extra charge and runs at 12pm, 12.50pm, 2.10pm and 3pm. Please see Park Map and Guide for more details.)


12:30 – 13:00 : Crafts – Map Ref 15

Take part in the days craft activity; colouring in, cutting and sticking.

Do you have what it takes to discover the Dino of the Day. Help Professor Weston-Smythe unravel the clues and decide which dinosaur you have discovered today. Our baby Velociraptor or Triceratops will help out in their own style and at the end you will have a chance to meet them but be careful they might bite!

Your chance to learn about snakes and touch one of our friendly snakes that live in the Animal Barn. Will it be a Corn Snake, a Northern Pine Snake or a Royal Python? Come to the Encounter Barn to find out all about these misunderstood reptiles.

Who will it be today- Basil or Parsley our Mediterranean Spur Thighed Tortoises or Flash or Scooter our Red Foot Tortoises. Learn all about these animals and get up close to them for a stroke.


15:30 – 16:00 : Meet the Dragons – Map Ref 15

Sizzle, Spyro or Norberta our Bearded Dragons will be pleased to meet you and let you have a stroke as you learn all about these friendly lizards from Australia.


16:00 – 16:30 : Ferret Fun – Map Ref 15

Discover the world of ferrets and see how friendly they really are – that’s if they can stay awake long enough. Learn about their habits and have a stroke of one of our many ferrets that live in the Secret Animal Garden.


16:30 – 17:00 : Roarsome Rats – Map Ref 15

Come and meet one of our fancy rats, either Rose, Donna or Martha and have a stroke. Learn all about the interesting world of rats.


17:00 – 17:30 : Goats Glorious Goats – Map Ref 13

Come along to the Pygmy goat pen in the Secret Animal Garden and learn all about these cute creatures. Watch them do their agility display and get up close with them and have a stroke
